I’m sure we have all met them. The gonnapreneurs.
I’m gonna start my own business and I’m gonna get out of this job and in actual fact gonna do anything never happens.
How many times have you said ‘I’m gonna’ and it hasn’t actually happened as yet? Don’t be so hard on yourself as it has happened to us all at one point in our life.
However, you can get off the merry go round before you become a serial ‘gonnapreneur’.
So what stops us from taking gonna to actually doing?
As human beings, we experience anywhere from 12,000 to 60,000 thoughts per day and 98% of these thoughts are the exactly the same as the day before. Until we break our thought pattern, nothing will change.
Below are the 5 top reasons and thoughts that stop us from moving forward.
No. 1 Fear of Failure
This is one of the most common reasons that people are afraid to make change. The ‘what if’ scenario. You may have all the greatest intention of doing something, but fear cripples you and holds you back.
No. 2 Lack of Confidence
Lack of confidence can also tie in with fear as the fear can make you believe that you don’t have the confidence to make the change or do what you need to do.
No. 3 Lack of Clarity
You may have a desire to do something, but you are not 100% clear on how to get started, what action you need to take or how to achieve it.
No. 4 Need that Push
Some of us need someone behind us to give us that push to take that first step.
No. 5 Pie in the Sky Dreams
Lastly, you need to determine whether what you want to do is a realistic action or goal. If not, create a goal that actually is realistic.
You can change these thought patterns by utilising actions and strategies that reboots a part of the brain to focus on new thoughts and patterns.
This is done by using strategies to instantly stop the old thought pattern and gets you to take ACTION to get the results and achieve your goals. Without action, you don’t move forward.
